Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week (AVIFW) 2023, which took place in Ho Chi Minh City, became a prestigious event featuring renowned designers from various countries, including Priyo Oktaviano from Indonesia. In this event, Priyo presented an exclusive collection with a futuristic ethnic theme that combined the richness of the archipelago's wastra with modern silhouettes. One of the special collaborations in the collection was with Tenun Mulya from Kediri, who provided East Java's signature tenun ikat fabric to be transformed into elegant runway looks with strong character. Tenun Mulya became an important part in strengthening the local cultural narrative on the international stage, while Priyo Oktaviano successfully interpreted traditional fabrics into haute couture pieces that are relevant to the global market. This collaboration is also a strategic step to introduce the beauty of East Java weaving to the world.
